With a Digitizing Hidden Collections grant from the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR), funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, The Museum of Flight has created an online repository of digitized materials from our holdings related to World War I. With nearly 50 collections represented and more than 4,000 individual items scanned, the site includes visual materials such as photographs, albums, stereo cards and maps; personal items of soldiers and pilots such as diaries and correspondence with family and friends; military records such as orders, memorandums, and certificates; and other ephemeral items like sheet music and clippings.
